Welcome August!!

It’s officially my bday month!! July was a busy month for me, working on the cookbook and still figuring out the mechanics of printing the paperback versions of our two books. This month I’ll be busy celebrating my bday, my sister’s and cousin’s bday all on the same day as well as my oldest grandson’s bday a few days after mine.

Does anyone else feel like this summer has sped by? Hard to believe it’s already August and next thing you know it’ll be Christmas. Hope the month of August is good to everyone.

Update July 13, 2018

Working on the family cookbook has brought back so many good memories of my grandma, her sisters, our various cousins and of course winter Sundays at home with my Mom. I’m also working on the paperback editions of both our ekindle books-still. These are tough to figure out with the formatting size of the print, etc. But I’ll get there.

New work near publication date

At 3am this morning I finished my second novel!!! This is not the sequel to my first novel, Bruised Souls, that I published last December. This is a stand alone fictionalized memoir that I plan to proof a few more times and publish no later than June 28th. I’d like to publish this work as both an ebook and a paperback. Fingers crossed, wish me luck.
After publication, I’ll be back to working on my sequel to Bruised Souls as well as working on a family cookbook I’d like to publish for our family for Christmas.

Late night thoughts

I just looked and it’s been a month since I last posted!! How is that possible? Best bring everyone up to speed-I’ve been under the weather for the better part of the year now, minor health issues that have made me incredibly tired thus my writing has come along slower than I anticipated. I still hope to publish my stand alone work by the end of this month if I can get a burst of energy soon.

Looking forward to a relaxing Fathers Day at my brothers with his family and my Mom.  And then more writing!!

The week in review

It’s been a stellar week! I’ve started and made quick progress on a new story I’m writing. No it’s not our sequel, although I’ve been pecking away at the keyboard for that as well. I’m working on a fictional account of my memoirs. Giving myself the happy ending I’d hoped. Writing is a definite blessing in that regard.

Yesterday was a beautiful and magical day for the English royals as well. If you watched the ceremony I hope you were as struck as I was at seeing such a very genuinely happy couple of people joining their lives together. It gives a person hope amidst all the bad news currently seen every day.

It was also a fantastic day in the sports world and for Cleveland fans in particular. The Indians won, the Cavaliers won to stay in the running against the Celtics and Justify won the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Today has been a day of rest and scribbling. Off now for more research and proofing what’s been scribbled already. Hoping to publish this effort within the next couple of weeks and then turn my full attention to the Bruised Souls sequel.

Dreams

Every time I come across a picture of an old white farmhouse in the middle of a field I think, “this….this is the life I want. A farmhouse with cats and dogs and goats and chickens.  And a studio out back for writing and painting and plotting and dreaming”

Why do we never know what we want out of life until it’s almost over?

Writers I follow

One of my favorite FanFiction writers I follow is Dynamsymmetry. Her works can be found on Archive of Our Own. I read mainly her works involving TWD characters, specifically Daryl and Beth. Her dialogue, her character flaws and strengths, everything about her stories is a lesson on what good writing should be. Her stories are full of poetry and music and magic. I can’t say enough about her amazing writing. One story in particular I’ve been following is Howl. Please do yourself a favor and look her up and check out her stories. You’ll be glad you did.

Getting back into a routine….

Got off work a bit early tonight/this morning so I was able to get my little writing area set back up. I’ve been writing in bed off and on the last couple of months but my pup is not really much help or much of an inspiration as she was forever needing belly rubs and kisses. So now I’m back at my desk in the living room hoping to actually get some work done. This has displeased pup as she can’t jump in my lap and the cat is having a field day lying across the back of the chair where pup can’t growl at her. Sigh. Here’s hoping we all get back into our old routine so I can actually get some real writing done!

Thoughts about blogging

Starting this blog was easier than I’d anticipated -I wish I’d started one when Tina and I first set up our production company. I’m hoping we can each write something interesting a few times a week at least to keep our family, friends and fans up to date with our writing projects. Helpful hints, comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Be kind please!!
